How much does the calculator cost?

Accepted Answer

Up to 70 transactions are free, with no account and no card details. A full settlement is unlocked by the season pass: a one-off 139 zl, no subscription and no automatic renewal. The pass covers the 2026 tax year and works until 31.07.2027, long after the PIT-38 deadline.

Can I upload several reports at once?

Accepted Answer

Yes. One settlement can combine up to 15 files: HTML reports from MetaTrader 5 along with CSV and XLSX files. Where reports overlap, duplicate transactions are detected and counted only once.

Question 3

Do I get a filled-in PIT-38 form?

Accepted Answer

Yes, as part of the season pass. The calculator fills the official PIT-38 form with your amounts, shows a preview and generates a PDF ready to file through e-Urzad Skarbowy. Your identifying details (PESEL, address) are typed in your browser and never reach our server.

How does the referral programme work?

Accepted Answer

Every account has its own referral link (you will find it in your account settings). Someone who registers through your link and buys a pass pays 10% less, and you receive a discount code for your next season pass.

How can I be sure the calculations are correct?

The algorithm follows current tax law.

How is payment handled, and will I get a purchase confirmation?

Accepted Answer

Payment goes through a fast-payment platform, and the pass you chose is activated immediately after payment.

Question 7

When is the deadline to file a capital-gains return for 2026?

Accepted Answer

The deadline for filing the 2026 return is 30 April 2027.

Question 8

I do not withdraw money from my brokerage account. Do I still have to file?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The obligation to file does not depend on withdrawing funds from the account, only on the operations carried out on it.

Question 9

When do I have to file a Polish capital-gains return?

Accepted Answer

• If you are a Polish tax resident,
• If you made a sale or received a dividend,
• If you sold shares or an ETF, closed a CFD position, acquired or disposed of cryptocurrency, or received a dividend.

The obligation to file does not depend on whether you withdrew funds from the account or whether the account is showing a loss.

Question 10

Why did my broker not send me a PIT-8C?

Accepted Answer

If your broker is not a Polish entity, it is under no obligation to produce that document. This is why you have to work out the income or loss on the account yourself.

Question 11

I made a loss on my brokerage account. Do I still have to file for 2026?

Accepted Answer

Making a loss does not in itself remove the obligation to file. In particular, a negative balance on the account does not necessarily mean you received nothing else, such as a dividend, which is reportable in its own right.

Question 12

How do I settle crypto acquisition costs from earlier tax years?

Accepted Answer

Those costs should appear on your returns for the earlier years. If you never filed such a return, you can still do so. That is what allows the costs to be deducted from your crypto sale revenue in 2026.

Question 13

Can I file jointly with my spouse or use the tax-free allowance?

Accepted Answer

Unfortunately not. Each spouse files their own PIT-38 individually. The tax-free allowance and other tax deductions are not available on this return either.

Question 14

I did not file for earlier years. What now?

Accepted Answer

You should file returns for all the earlier years as well and pay the tax. It is also advisable to submit what Polish law calls czynny zal, a voluntary disclosure.

Question 15

My broker is a foreign company. Is it still worth reporting that account on a Polish return?

Accepted Answer

Very much so. The Polish tax authority exchanges taxpayer information with foreign tax administrations. You should assume that it will learn about your foreign brokerage account before the liability becomes time-barred, and will then ask you to file or to explain yourself.

Once that happens you can no longer file together with czynny zal, the voluntary disclosure that protects you from penal-fiscal consequences. The Polish authority is currently sending such demands about 2020 settlements from the Degiro platform.

How are foreign currencies converted?

• Both costs and revenue are converted into zloty at the NBP average rate from the last business day before the cost was incurred or the revenue arose.
• Those days are the days ownership transfers (SETTLEMENT). The length of that cycle depends on the instrument type and the country the transaction takes place in.
• For shares and ETFs it is D+2 worldwide, except the USA, Mexico and Canada, where D+1 has applied since 28.05.2024.
• For options it is D+1. Crypto and CFDs settle immediately, at D+0.

Question 17

I paid 30% withholding tax on a dividend. Do I still owe more? What is the cap on foreign withholding tax?

• International treaties set the maximum WHT (withholding tax) on dividends and interest that the Polish tax office will recognise.
• For example, on a US dividend where 35% WHT was withheld, the Polish tax office will recognise only 15% WHT, and a further 4% will still be payable.
• Our application applies this cap automatically for every country Poland has such a treaty with.
• We are aware of a WSA (administrative court) judgment on this point. It unfortunately has no force before the tax office for anyone other than the parties to that case, and on our tax adviser's guidance we do not apply the exception.

Question 18

Why is a share sale from 31 December 2026 not in the 2026 figures?

Accepted Answer

• This follows from the settlement cycles described under "How are foreign currencies converted?".
• Such a transaction only settles in calendar year 2027, and belongs on the PIT-38 for that year.
